My nephew, Tuck, loves Harry Potter. Any of you who know me, know that I am obsessed with all things Potter-ific and I love that Tuckeroo loves the series as much as me. He's already on his second round of reading the books (#proud). So when I talked to my sister about making the boys' Christmas presents this year and we decided that a Harry Potter painting would be the most fun for his bedroom - I got super excited!!!
For about two weeks, every night when Ben and I watched TV together, I would work a little more on Tuck's painting. It was so relaxing and fun to make. I chose to paint one of the more unique covers of first book [Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, illustrated by Kazu Kibuishi] - since it was the same one that Ben and I found and purchased in Italy. I love how the cool tones give off a more mysterious vibe than the original cover.
It was awesome to see Tuck excited about the painting, and he's already hung it up in his bedroom which makes me so happy! Hopefully he stays interested in the series so that making these paintings can become a tradition for holidays! :)
What was the favorite gift that you gave to someone this holiday season? How did you loved one react when you gave it to them? Comment below!! :)
