I'm currently working on my first trapezoid-shaped commission! I have sooo much work left to do, but here's a little sneak peek! Please excuse the gigantic mess that is now my studio. Now that I'm doing the whole Mandy Fitz Furniture gig I've added fabric, stains and stuffing to the mix of paints and pastels...
Still just working on the underpainting. This is going in a collector's sun room above a set of glass doors where the ceiling slopes down on the right. They asked for the painting to slope in a similar way so Ben cut this wood with a circular saw and I sanded it. It was a little hard to figure out but now that we've done it, this opens up ideas for all kinds of commissions!
This painting is 8 feet long which makes it (minus the Garden mural) the largest commission I've ever had! I'll show more progress shots in the coming weeks, hoping to have this finished by mid-July!
On a different note, I am SO excited to announce that tomorrow you all will get to read about two incredibly talented artists that I had the pleasure of interviewing for this month's "Artists to Know" series. Get excited! :) :) :)
