Yesterday I finished one of my favorite furniture makeovers! Thanks to the following supplies provided by DecoArt, I was able to change a dark wood antique fern table into a bright and elegant accent piece! First step was painting the table with the Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint in "Lace" with a medium sized paint brush. I started with this:
After quite a few coats, I had this:
Next up was stenciling:
The best part about this stencil was that it stuck to the table! I didn't have to use any tape - which, for someone who stencils more than the average person, is a special treat and saves a ton of time/frustration.
After stenciling a couple areas, I brought out some of the detailing by painting some of the rings around the table with the same metallic paint as the stencil. Then I coated the table with the light satin varnish to keep it protected and here's how it turned out:
