In between commissions and chaos I've been slowly making over my new office space (formerly our family room) and it's been so much fun!
In case you haven't seen how our family room looked before, here's a peek:
We decided to turn it into my office, due to the fact that my art was (/still is for now) taking over our entire house. Ben thought it would be smart to consolidate to the studio and this space so that the rest of the rooms in our house could function normally.
One of the first things to go was the paint color. I painted it with Behr's "Palest Morning Blue" and I love love love it!
Then I rearranged furniture a ton of times, brought down two of my old IKEA tables to make a TRIPLE TABLE and got started arranging the gallery wall!
Normally I'm all about guessing and sticking in nails and thumb tacks where it feels like it should go - but since I was going to be displaying two very heavy pieces (the large mixed media painting and the painted mirror), I didn't want to have to redo it a million times. I still had to redo things a bit, but arranging on the floor first hand definitely saved me time.
I'm pretty obsessed with how it turned out!
I also painted my Dad's old lawyer's bookcase (for the second time), and painted the mirrors above the same color. It's a very deep navy blue that really pops on the pale blue wall.
Also, I BOUGHT A TV! It's huge and wonderful and Ben mounted it to the wall and I love it so much!! All I need to do now is get one of those cord cover-up thingys because, aint nobody wanna see that.
In one corner you'll see our little Christmas tree :)
The loveseat is Luna Bear's hang out spot. She chills on there while I'm working and looks extra cute because she has a mint green bow that perfectly matches her surroundings :)
So now I'd love to hear from you! What spaces are you hoping to makeover in the new year? What will be the hardest part about your makeover? What about the most fun part? Comment below!! :)
