You guys. My sister, Allie, is the best!! She's spent the last couple months organizing the CUTEST and most HARRY POTTER shower for baby Bo! This past Saturday my friends and family got together at her house and celebrated the little boy that will be here in less than four weeks!
You have to see the insane amount of detail that she put into all the decorations, it's a Pinterest dream! Her boys and her hubby, Allen, helped a ton too - be sure to check out the Platform 9 3/4 that Allen BUILT and PAINTED and even inserted their youngest son's shopping cart into for the full effect! Seriously, it's the coolest!! There were Harry Potter goodie bags with HOMEMADE chocolate frogs in boxes that Allie put together that look like you could get them straight out of Universal Studios. Same goes for the jelly beans - she MADE those boxes too! I was blown away. The coolest favor she did was the EOS chapsticks that she painted gold and glued on yellow feathers to look like snitches! So clever and fun! I pretty much just squealed with happiness and love for Harry Potter for three hours.
My mom also helped a lot by making one of my favorite desserts EVER - Coconut cupcakes with coconut frosting! Nom nom nom nom. The food was incredible, there were trays of chicken minis (heaven), sugar cookies, meatballs - basically all the food I've been craving throughout this pregnancy. It was so yummy!
We decorated onesies and bibs for Bo, the guest book was the first Harry Potter book and everyone wrote notes in the margins to our little dude wishing him happiness and love. I opened a million amazing presents and Ben and I were just blown away by everyone's generosity and love for our little boy! At the end of the shower, Allie had collected all of the names of the people who brought us diapers and put them in the "Goblet of Fire" and had me choose three names that would win gift cards - it was so cute!
I could go on forever, but I'll leave you with these pictures instead. I am so lucky to have such an amazing family! Thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated with us, it was a day I'll never forget!
