A few months ago I showed you my gallery wall above our fireplace. I was happy with the way the art looked, but not a huge fan of our TV arrangement. Well this past week Ben and I decided to rearrange our family room and put the TV in a different spot, which means you can now see our fireplace!
We've never used it, and for now - don't plan to, so I began brainstorming ways to beautify the space. I've seen gorgeous photos of all different sized candles in unused fireplaces, white-washed bricks and beautiful wrought iron covers, but all have one thing in common: they're clean.
Ben did some research and found that this product: Krud Kutter ($11.22) does a great job on removing all the nasty that come with a used fireplace. We went to Home Depot, picked it up along with a metal scrub brush and last night I got to work. It was NASTY, but surprisingly fun to watch all the dirt and grime go away :) Once the fireplace is completely cleaned, I can get a move on with the fun stuff/painting & decorating! Stay tuned!
