I've never done anything quite like this before, so it's extra fun to share! Have you all been following along on Pinterest and other blogs to see the rise in interest in gnome & fairy gardens? I think I first noticed that they were catching on a few years ago when I worked at a daycare. The little girls would gather around one of the trees next to the playground and collect sticks and leaves to make homes for fairies. Since then, I've seen an increase in the cutest little supplies in craft stores for everything from a garden bench to mini stepping stones and the tiniest little arbors you've ever seen!
If you've also noticed this - and wanted to join in the fun, you also may have seen that it can get pricey very fast! When I decided to make our own little tabletop garden, I knew I wanted to make as much as possible to keep the cost low.
I also knew I wanted to draw inspiration from Bilbo Baggins' home in the Shire. Any other Hobbit/LOTR fans out there?
Here's where I drew my inspiration:

This is all I can share for now! But stay tuned, because soon DecoArt will share my instructions on how to do this yourself!
In the meantime, here are the DecoArt Patio Paints that I used:
