Hallways tend to be forgotten spaces but are really great opportunities to decorate, personalize, and of course STENCIL! Once I proposed the change I would be making to my hallway, Royal Design Studio sent me the most beautiful stencil to try:
The Donatella Domask Stencil from Royal Design Studio. Isn't it gorgeous?!
I decided to paint the walls gray, specifically Behr brand's "Flint Smoke". So I removed everything from the hall, prepped the space and got to work. Here's a little before and after :)
Next came deciding what color to use for the stencil. I got help from the nice paint guy at my local Home Depot and he simply added white to "Flint Smoke" to make it two shades lighter. It's just a subtle contrast which makes the stencil show up soooo pretty! It's tough getting around all the edges in this small space so the stencil is taking a little longer than normal. I'll hold off on showing a progress shot until I've made it a little further along :)
What I can tell you is that this is where the newly refinished chandelier (from THIS post) is going to hang! Last night my brother in law, Allen, came over to help us hang it and he discovered it was missing a few pieces. Once we get that settled there will be a beautiful new (to us) light fixture hanging! Add that to the stenciled wall, and some fresh decor and this space is going to be so cute!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! And don't forget - THIS SUNDAY Oct 18 from 1-5pm is the open house event "Christmas Shopping for Ladies" hosted by mom at her house in Short Pump, VA. Featuring 5 women (including myself) selling their products (art, furniture, jewelry, skin care, scrapbooking, purses, gloves, scarves, & more)! Details here.
