Made a new painting today! Titled "Pride" for a number of reasons. For one, it was created by painting over an old piece - as part of my New Years stop-holding-onto-paintings-you-aren't-proud-of Resolution. Ditching my pride and accepting that some of the art I've made in the past is well...crap, and that it's okay to paint over it, is what that resolution is all about. Another reason why it's titled "Pride" is because I was watching Pride and Prejudice at the time, so it seemed appropriate :) Here's what I was working with:
Rough, right? I had called the painting "Pink Frog" and I absolutely hated it for a good two years. It's very weird how much I disliked this painting yet still kept it around. Until today, when I decided it was time to give it new life! In the photo below you'll see the finished product, see if you can spy some of the old pink!
