One of the things we really loved about our house when we bought it was the huge shed in the backyard. It's big enough to hold all of bens woodworking tools and some of my furniture projects.
Structurally it was great, aesthetically...not so much. On Sunday we decided to change that, and it was so much fun!
First Ben power washed it and it went from an algae shade of green to the same tan color as our house. Next he removed the rotted white wood trim and I took down the shutters and sprayed them black with rustoleum indoor outdoor paint.
Ben cut new wood for the trim and I painted it with exterior semi-gloss white. After it was try he attached the wood and then the freshly painted shutters. Don't they look pretty!?
Then we found some plans on Pinterest about how to make your own window boxes for cheap cheap. You can see the plans here. Cost roughly $12 total for everything (wood, paint, screws). Ben built them really quickly and I had fun painting them white with a black swirl stenciled design :)
We filled it with flowers and I'm in love! I also decided while I had the white exterior paint out, I might as well paint the trim and it looks so much better!
Ben and I have big plans for our backyard, I can't wait to show you more of our projects as we complete them :)
