So a couple weeks ago I went thrifting with my sister in search of the perfect (inexpensive) dining table and chairs. After seeing lots of highly priced and not-so-much-beautiful sets in antique stores downtown, we went to trusty Diversity thrift and I found this set for the PERFECT price. About $140 for the table, 5 chairs, a table leaf and a table protector. I've been refinishing the table and chairs since they were delivered to our place (this is also where I got the hutch), and the full set isn't ready to be revealed yet.
But what IS ready to be seen is the armchair that I turned into a waiting room chair for my office!
Part of the reason why the kitchen set was so heavily discounted was because it was missing the other head chair. I knew I wanted to have a matching set for either side of our table for when we have company, which would leave this chair unused and that seemed like such a waste! I knew I wanted to have a chair or two in my office for when I do my interviews or show clients their completed paintings, so this seemed like the PERFECT solution!
So yesterday I coated the brown chair in Bulls Eye 1-2-3 a couple times, painted the middle section with Navy blue craft paint, put a new grey cover on the previously floral fabric. After the Bulls Eye was dried I put a few coats of Semi-Gloss White Valspar Paint&Primer over it so it's nice and shiny and easy to keep clean. It matches the office so well!!
I recently purchased the supplies needed to make this chair WAY more comfy! This is now what it looks like:
