I severely underestimated the amount of snow we would get here in Virginia. Everyone kept saying it was going to be bad, but I didn't want to believe them. Unfortunately, they were right, I was wrong, and a few short hours into the storm, we ran out of cookies. The worst part about this snowstorm was missing the opening night at Mott Gallery on Saturday. I am currently featured there with 7 other artist who are also members of the gallery. The good thing is that they have just announced a makeup date! February 6th from 4-6pm there will be live music followed by a second opening from 6-9pm! I will DEFINITELY be there, as will many others who were unable to make it the first time around. I hope you can make it, too! Details HERE.

Speaking of live music, can we talk about how cool this is?
The talented musician, Samantha Pearl, filmed her audition video for NPR's tiny desk contest in front of MY artwork! If you haven't heard her music, click HERE to give it a listen.
Once I got over my disappointment for missing the show, I was able to enjoy how awesome it was to have a REAL snowstorm! Normally we just get 2-3 inches, enough to be a little inconvenient, but not enough to do anything cool in. Some of my family came over yesterday and we ate snow, made snowmen and attempted to make an igloo. I made an apple pie and Ben and I played video games for about 10,000 hours. It was one of the best weekends ever :)
