It's so rare than expectations align with reality, and even more uncommon when reality exceeds those expectations. On August 3rd my friend Alex [The Routine Creative] and I hosted #makersmarketrva - a celebration of the RVA art community featuring 20 artists, that we'd been planning together for something like 8 months at the Hofheimer Bldg in Scott's Addition. To give you an idea of the crowd - we had 300 swag bags donated by @decoart , they were GONE before 7:30pm. The community that came out to support us was mind blowing 😍. Connections, friendships and sales were made all night and I'm so thankful for everyone who helped us put this together. Seeing artists happy as they share their creations with a community that loves them is one of the greatest feelings in the world 🙌. Today I am pumped to share these photos with you, courtesy of Shannon Pierce Photography.
It's also exciting to see how much attention this event received! We were featured in Richmond Magazine, RVAhub, Richmond Times Dispatch, Style Weekly, VisitRichmondVA, Evensi, All Events.in , Eventbu, Aspiring Artists of Richmond, with close to 60K people reached through the Facebook event! Thank you RVA for spreading the word so beautifully for these artists!!
A handful of my framed RVA landmark prints below! :)
One of the perks to being a sponsor for this event, was that if you donated a certain amount - you received a complimentary hand painted logo (courtesy of yours truly :) . These guys were a labor of love, but not as much as the wall that they are hanging on - created by my hubby! Ben built this wall to be completely portable, and it collapsed to be so small that it could fit in my tiny car! I love that guy.
P.S. Excuse the crooked way the canvases are hanging! In front of this wall, we had the 300 swag bags donated by DecoArt. They were gone so fast the area got a bit disheveled in the process :)
We love our sponsors!!
