You may have noticed I've been blogging a LOT less than my normal 5x a week lately... and to be honest, I feel really weird about it! I'm a creature of habit when it comes to my biz so not sticking to my schedule is throwing me off a bit. It's funny how weird this whole balancing act is - when I'm blogging everyday and going hard with my marketing, I feel guilty for not creating more. When I'm spending hours upon hours each day making new art, I feel guilty for not writing about it and sharing it with all of you - worried that you'll forget about me! Brains are really obnoxious sometimes! 😑On the bright side - I have SO MUCH NEW ART to share with you all in the coming weeks 😀. All is in preparation for the two shows I'm in this summer which I'm super pumped about.
One is starting in just a week, called "Home" at The Gallery at UNOS and will on display until August 26th.
The other is a one night art show PARTY I've been putting together with my good friend Alex Cottles, called Maker's Market RVA happening August 3rd at the Hofheimer Bldg. I'm so excited to share sooo much new work with you and hear your thoughts. So while I won't be in the blog-o-sphere Monday - Friday until the Fall, I hope to see you in real life at one of those shows!!
If you happen to be reading from out of town, yet still want to see this new art, and perhaps even purchase it I HAVE GREAT NEWS.
So I've been creating work for the The Gallery at UNOS Opening Reception happening next Friday, and I JUST finished creating online listings for EVERY piece that is on display there until August 26th:
If you'd like to purchase, you can do so through that link! If you need it shipped to you, let me know by sending me an email and I'll calculate a little extra to cover my shipping costs.
20% of ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to the United Network for Organ Sharing for the duration of the show, so when you purchase - you're also helping UNOS' mission to save lives through increased organ donation and transplantation!
And now for a little preview of some of the BRAND NEW art you'll be seeing next Friday:
More than HALF of the art on display is BRAND NEW. As in, made in the last couple weeks!! I'm really proud of this Richmond series, and I think you guys will love seeing how it's evolved since 2014!
It's also important to note that close to 50 of the pieces on display are FRAMED and READY TO HANG!
This is the piece I'm most proud of from the Richmond series - take a look at it compared to my 2014 version!
So that's what I've been upto these last few weeks; creating a TON of new art, then doing all the things that come with making new art: matting, framing, wiring, creating online listings, putting cute little stickers on the back of each piece and all that jazz.
It may not seem like a lot, but I can promise you that this is the hardest I've worked on creating quality work to share with you all. I'm really freaking proud of this and the new series that is still in the works, but that I've mentioned a few times (here).
On that note - I leave you all for a much needed week long vacation. I'll still be sharing about a new vendor for the Maker's Market every day next week (right here!)- but besides that, I'll be taking a vacation from social media as well. Honestly I'm completely exhausted as I write this and much too tired for proof reading and can't think of how to end this, so..........
much love my friends! :)
