"The only way out is through" - Robert Frost
Sometimes, life challenges you.
Sometimes those challenges reveal that you are resilient, fierce, capable of more than you ever expected. During hardships we often hear from our friends, "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" or "God only gives us what we can handle".
Sometimes those friends are wrong.
Sometimes those challenges break you, leave you heartbroken.
As much as I'm tempted to pretend the darkness doesn't exist, to start a new post about a Christmas present I made that can now be shared, or pictures of how cute my Luna Bear looks while she's sleeping as I work - I just can't do it today.
While I won't share names, as it's not my story to tell, recently I learned that a very close friend of mine has been diagnosed with a disease I've spent the last 10 years raising awareness for. So scared that this disease would prey on someone I love. And now it's happened to the most joyful, hilarious and loving person I know.
I keep thinking of Robert Frost's quote...
the only way out is through...the only way out is through...the only way out is through...
So, I'm going to ask you all for something I've never asked for in the close to 600 posts I've shared with you. Will you, my kind, art loving, blog reading friends - will you please pray for her? Will you pray for her family? Pray for strength for them to get through this? If you aren't one to pray, will you send good vibes, good thoughts, whatever you can spare - their way?
I would not be who I am today, doing what I do each day, without the guidance from this sweet woman.
None of us know how much time we left on this earth with our favorite people. The love you have for them means more than money, more than art, more than anything. Tell your favorites how much they mean to you. Right now, if you can.
Nothing is permanent.
