As you may have noticed, Ben and I love doing home projects. We love taking something yucky and making it pretty. Now that we've improved many of the obvious flaws (mail box, shed, etc) around our house, we can do the fun remodeling projects without feeling guilty about the necessary fixes! Which leads me to our half bath remodel :) There was nothing exactly WRONG with the bathroom, just that it was a boring shade of beige and not much was going on:
I started off the improvements with two fresh coats of Valspar's "City Storm" Interior Eggshell paint. Even though the room is very small, I felt it could get away with a dark color since there's a lot of white (sink, toilet, door, woodwork) + I only painted three of the walls, the last wall got a special treatment...
Before we get to the special treatment wall, take a look at some of the little improvements I did to give the room some life! Remember these sconces from Goodwill?
They became beautiful white flower holders :)
In case you're ever looking for some inexpensive babies breath - I got a HUGE bunch for just $5.99 at Martins! There's something so refreshing about being surrounded by real flowers!
As you can see, I stuck some in the little votive display my mama gave me! Babies breath makes everything pretty, even a toilet! Next I hung up one of the pretty monogrammed hand towels we got as a wedding present. Since the room is gray, I tried to bring as many light and bright accents in as possible!
Next up is a super cool mirror that Ben's sister Ashleigh got us for my bridal shower last year. I LOVE it and it looks awesome in this little space!
Now for the special wall:
I probably should have worn a less loud print for this little photoshoot...oh well. So there it is! The BEAUTIFUL faux brick wall from Home Depot that Ben installed last night! Less than $26 for this panel and it completely transformed our space! We looooove the way it turned out!
Using this cute husband:
And these screws:
We have a unique and awesome bathroom!!
Here's a detail shot with some brand new art!
It's called "A Quiet Place" and it's a 5x7" print by Hayden Ireland (HeartMadeArts) that I purchased from from Orange! I looove this print. I bought it as a present for Ben and today I framed it with a STEAL from Goodwill. Just $4.20 for this awesome frame and instead of purchasing a matte, I just painted a piece of paper with the same Valspar paint as the walls to tie everything together!
We still have some work left to do, like framing the clipped mirror, and we're thinking a lot about a new floor and getting a sink that has storage underneath. But I can't believe how big of a difference some Valspar paint, some flowers and a sheet of faux brick from Home Depot did for this space!
