Hi friends! It's been a while! Almost three weeks since my last post, but I promise I have a good excuse for going off the grid :) My main man and I went to ITALY for about two weeks and it was glorious! We've been planning this trip for about three years and it definitely paid off! So much pretty in so many places. We went from Venice to Florence to Rome to the Amalfi Coast to Naples. Lots of trains. Lots of gelato. Lots of living in our own little world because we didn't know what people were saying. Lots of pizza. It was an amazing trip but I am so happy to be home!
When we got home, I was greeted by my art being featured on:
Florida Keys Wedding Blog
(both featuring my hand painted backdrop photographed by C York Photography)
Glamour and Grace (my hand painted table runner photographed by Kathryn Ivy Photography!)
and this summer my backdrop will be seen in PRINT in Virginia Bride Magazine! Which you can pick up at Barnes and Noble!!
If you're interested in renting any of the hand painted backdrops or table runners from my current inventory, or having a custom one created for your wedding or event, I'd love to chat!! Click HERE to fill out the contact form :)
I am also super excited to announce that I'll be selling my painted furniture and prints of my work at Patina'd Grace - a brand new consignment store opening November 5th! Located at 106 S. Robinson Street, it's right next to Carytown and is going to house a ton of talent. If you're free, consider yourself invited to the opening by clicking HERE!
As far as the "Room Switch" mentioned in the title of today's blog - I have to first say that this was Ben's idea. I'm constantly amazed at how much of the house he's okay with me taking over. You see, Ben thought it would be smarter for me to have my studio downstairs where we had our family room. He though it would be good to combine the office & studio in one place, move the family room to where my office was and then we'd gain an extra room upstairs (also because I have this mildly annoying habit of bringing my painting projects downstairs and taking over the family room with them). I was so excited at the idea of having such a big space for my work. Then we started moving the furniture. Surprisingly, our massive couch fit in my office and created a comfy space, but when Ben saw just how much stuff I had in the family room without even bringing down the furniture & supplies from the studio - he said I should turn the studio into a giant storage closet for my art and make the family-room-turned-office into just that - a large office.
Soooooooo that was a very longwinded way of saying that I have a HUGE office right now and while it's currently completely chaotic with all the moving around of furniture and things, I feel so spoiled and lucky and like this is going to make a huge difference for my business. With all this space, I even have room for when I eventually plan to hire an assistant - they'll actually have a space to work! I feel very fancy and lucky to have such a babe for a hubby.
Here's a sneak peek of the chaos. Notice the paint change!
And I know that I promised you a brand new series when I returned to the blog-o-sphere and it'll be here soon!! It's all inspired by our Italy trip and I think you're going to love it :)
