If you've been following my blog the last few weeks, you probably know that I've been prepping for the Creative Marketplace RVA event for QUITE a while now (less than a month away, details HERE!). Until recently my focus has been on the other 26 artists selling their work, connecting with food vendors & a DJ and all the other craziness that comes along with planning an event like this. But after checking out the mile long to-do list and realizing that we're right on schedule, I decided it was time to start worrying about my art booth set up!
And everyone knows that means...a trip to IKEA!
Man, I love IKEA. So much. I especially love all of the unfinished wood! So many opportunities to paint all of the things :)
So when I found this adorable little book display, I knew it could be PERFECT for showing off my prints! All it needed was a little grey stain:
I used Martha Stewart's Multi Surface Satin Acrylic in "Arrowhead" mixed with a TON of water to get this finish:
I also flipped the bright blue shelf part over to reveal a plain white bottom that is much less distracting!
