Thanks to all the help with my new branding process (see Honest - Personal - Custom blog), I began the fun part of creating my new business cards and yesterday they were sent to the printers! I had trouble deciding what paintings to show on them because the subjects I deal with in my work is pretty broad - from Figurative Fantasy to drawings of Richmond, VA, they don't look the most cohesive side by side. Then a friend of mine, Riley, suggested I print more than one business card to showcase each of my different styles. Good idea right?? So I took it and I made 3 separate business cards! Each shows off a different subject & style and I'd love to know which one is your favorite!
This one was created to show off my prints. These are drawings that I created then went into photoshop with to change the original colors. If you come to a local show in Richmond, VA, this is most likely the business card you'll see!
This is the business card that shows off my more stylized paintings, the Fantasy section that is currently the one I'm most proud of but that I know can discourage certain people who are anti-figurative in the art world. Many believe that painting people is a childish act for an artist, saying to paint a person is to stay in their comfort zone. Obviously I don't agree with that, but for those people who do - I'd give them a different business card, like this next one:
This business card is meant to show off my abstract work and the fact that I am always accepting commissions. This is most likely the business card I will pass on to galleries. On the left is one of my lithographs, called "Chalky" that I recently sold. On the right is a photo of a recent commission (you can read John's testimonial here).
I ordered my business cards through Taradel, LLC and for 1,000 it only costs $39.99. They're full color on both sides, great quality and if you don't know how to design your own business cards they have templates you can use. You can also work one on one with a member of their design staff for a little extra money.
I'd love to know which business card you like the best, comment with your answer below! :)
