My newest furniture makeover is of an antique "captain's" chair.
After thoroughly cleaning the chair, I set it out in our backyard and began priming it with "Oxford Blue" spray paint.
Next I coated it with a couple layers of Prussian Blue spray paint (same color from this chandelier)
My next step was coating section of the chair in Rustoleum's "Weathered Grey" stain, and wiping it away with a towel. The stain remained in the grooves of the chair, giving it an aged look.
I ended up doing a second coat of the stain, to really emphasize that whole "shabby chic" style. Then I sanded down some of the layers of paint to expose parts of the chair again.
The final step was taking a small Q-tip - dipping it in the stain, then applying it to the sanded down areas. Now I'm done and this chair is ready for a new home!
