The start of Fall is here! With it comes Fall Festivals, State Fairs, and one of our family's (and many, many others'!) oldest tradition - apple picking! A couple weekends back my family and I went to Carter Mountain for our annual apple picking spree which inspired this fun sign! Apple cider, apple donuts, apple crisp - all taste extra yummy in this sweet season. If you're a fan of making your own seasonal decor, I think you'll love making this simple sign using DecoArt chalk paint :)
Gather your supplies and map everything out with a pencil! If you want the writing centered, use a ruler. Draw out your applies, jar of cider and text.
Using a liner brush (itty bitty detail brush) outline the text and the red apples. Fill in with a filbert brush (flat brush that comes to a point).
Time to use your other three colors! Water down "Heritage" to help it flow easily, as this will be the color of the swirling cider! Make a dozen or so "Rejuvenate" apples, and outline with "Estate" to make them really pop! Using "Revive" and your liner brush, make a tiny green leaf on each apple.
That's it!! Set it up next to a bowl of your prettiest apples and a pitcher of cider! :) What are your favorite Fall traditions? Any favorite recipes? Share 'em below!
*If you like the font from this painting, I used "Goudy Stout" as inspiration! You can download the file below :)
