One of my many, many new years resolutions - was to weed through old paintings, really look at them and decide if they're something I'm proud of. If they aren't, I must paint over them with something I AM proud of. The last two paintings I've showed you this week were painted over old paintings, and today's is no different! Here's the original 4x5" painting:
Not my best work. Here's how it turned out today:
Inspired by the photo below that I found while cleaning out my studio yesterday; I took this photo way back in 2008! It's of one of my favorite trees, and this place has changed a lot since this photo was taken. I used to drive here in high school when I was feeling stressed and wanted something peaceful to look at while I sorted through my thoughts. Painting the tree seemed like a nice tribute to a different time. I've titled the painting "Alone" and it was created on a 4x5" gallery wrapped canvas using acrylic paint. Currently for sale, Details HERE.
This is a fun little canvas with a 3/4th inch border so it's all ready to hang!
Hope you all are staying warm in on this snowy day! I'm planning on making some chicken & rice soup, cuddling up with lots of blankets and playing lots of Mario <3
