As you may know from reading my past blogs, I've been in the process of re-branding my business for a little over a month now. I've been following a pretty simplified list written by Elicia Putnam, the CEO and Co-Founder of PrestoBox (PrestoBox helps you make your brand then makes your website, logo and business cards!). Putnam says the first step is to ask your friends and family 3 words to describe your business, which I've done. Next I'm supposed to find photos that "visually express your brand" - being a painter, this part should have been easier than it was. But after looking through a lot of my work, thinking about paintings I like and my favorite colors I noticed a pattern.
Orange-y peaches, greys and greens are in almost all of my paintings! So the colors I chose to unify my brand are "Icy Mint", "Amber Rose" and "Hazy Stratus" - or at least that's what Valspar calls my favorite colors. The next move is to edit my website, my logo, letterhead and other print media to match these colors to bring everything together. Today I found those colors in ribbon form at A.C.Moore, so now when you order a painting from me, you best believe it will be gift wrapped to match my brand!
I'm really excited! :D Read more about where I'm getting my branding advice by going here.
